The short version: every verdict on PlugPick is editorial judgement built from sources you can check, and nothing on the site can be bought. Here is exactly what that means.

Where the facts come from

Three places, in order of weight. First, official material: the developer's documentation, feature specs, and changelogs. Second, artist usage: when a page says a producer uses a plugin, that claim carries a verbatim quote and a link to its source. If a reference can't be verified, it gets skipped, never invented. Third, community consensus: the recurring judgements of working producers across forums and long-term reviews, weighed, not copied.

Prices are rendered from our catalogue at page load, so a review can't quietly show a stale number in the text. Always confirm the current price with the retailer before buying.

What “tested” means here

Unless a page explicitly says hands-on, a review or comparison is research-based: compiled from the sources above, not from studio sessions we ran. We think an honest research-based verdict beats a fake hands-on one, so we never write “we tested” unless someone actually did. Where Kasper Nods has personal experience with a plugin from producing, the page says so in plain words.

How ratings and verdicts are set

A rating reflects how well a plugin does the job it is sold for, at the price it is sold at: sound, workflow, stability, and whether cheaper or free options get you close enough. A “versus” verdict answers one question, which one should you buy, and commits to an answer instead of ending on “it depends”. Pros and cons on a review page are the same ones marked up in the page's structured data, what you read is what search engines are told.

Affiliate links never touch rankings

Some outbound links are affiliate links, disclosed above the fold on every page that has them. Commission rates play no role in which plugins are listed, how they rank, or which side of a comparison wins. Plenty of pages recommend free plugins that earn us exactly nothing; they stay because the recommendation is right.
